Height Adjuster - McPherson Strut

Before adjusting the height, always jack up the vehicle and remove the tyres.

When adjusting the vehicle height by using the height adjuster, the tyre or suspension arm or other parts may easily interfere with the vehicle body or other suspension parts. Therefore, carefully check that there is no interference between any parts after the adjustment.

To adjust height; Use an allen key. Loosen the two clamping screws on the upright bracket (1). Turn the shock absorber body to adjust the vehicle height (2a/2b). After adjusting, tighten the two clamping screws on the upright bracket (3).

The bracket may not be adjusted below the caution line as it may come lose or break.

Spring Preload

Spring Preload – McPherson Strut

When adjusting the spring preload you move the spring seat. This will decrease or increase the initial spring force, which will lower or raise the vehicle. The spring preload is the difference between the measures A and B in the figure. On some shock absorber models you may also adjust the height. The spring preload and ride height can be changed individually. If your shock absorber has a height adjuster, this should be used for ride height adjustment.

To adjust spring preload; Use a C-spanner. Unlock the lower spring seat (1). Adjust the spring preload; Turn the adjustment ring to adjust the spring preload (2a/2b). Lock the lower spring seat after adjusting the spring preload (3).

Low Speed Rebound Adjuster – McPherson Strut

Adjust by turning the knob at the bottom of the shock absorber. Turn counter clockwise to decrease the damping, to make the damping softer (1). Turn clockwise to increase the damping, to make the damping firmer (2).
